Wow, it has been a really long time since I had a moment to get my thoughts written down!!! The past several months have surely been a whirlwind. Every week my entire family, from my husband to my Dad to my in-laws each had their list of to-do's in preparation for our first Wedding. It was just so amazing to see everything come together for the day we had all been waiting for.
On Saturday, May 20th, 2017 we had our first Wedding. Only through God's strength and guiding hand was everything made possible. Its hard to believe that we started this journey less than a year ago. Our Amish builders started in July of 2016 and here we are not even one year later having our first Wedding. Here are a few photos of how the barn looked before we started our project.
This past year has surely been a year of complete faith and trust in God. At times our Barn project seemed to become bigger than we had ever thought. I would have feelings of being overwhelmed by it all, but with each thought of uncertainty God provided a soft whisper, Becca keep taking one step forward and I will show you the way. As I'm typing my eyes are welling up with tears of joy for the many blessings and sound guidance he has opened my eyes to see.
"Whenever I'm afraid I will trust in you." Psalm 56:3
I literally could write a book about all of the prayers God answered along the way! I spent a lot of time this past year, writing down my prayers and thoughts to God, only to have a book that I would go back and check off the many prayers and miracles he performed. I prayed that if this was God's will that he would send us couples who wanted to start their lives together. Low and behold our phones and email were flooded with people who wanted to tour the barn. As we started our first tours, I looked around and all I could see was mud, dirt and more mud. I remember the day that Nancy Kemmerer came for a tour. By the end of the visit, she said to me I'd like to book the barn for our daughters Wedding, she is in Arizona finishing school and I just know that she will love it here. The picture below is what the barn looked like the day that Nancy put her faith and trust in us, knowing her daughters Wedding was only 6 short months away. Not only was it one of our first tours, but ended up being our first wedding too!
"May he give you the desires of your heart and make all your plans succeed." Psalm 20:4
Amen, Amen, Amen - I took this from my journal! :-)
God orchestrated completing every detail of our Barn project, we are so humbled and grateful for all that he has done and continues to do in our lives. We celebrated May 20th, 2017 with the Godrey/Kemmerer families. Again God truly sent us the most amazing couple for our first Wedding. They spent most of their Friday decorating and setting up for their big day. I was amazed to see all of the special references to what God has done in their lives too. The day could not have been more beautiful!
We were honored that Nancy chose us that day back in November, even I was thinking my goodness we have a lot of work to do! :-) So today I take a moment to "Thank" God for all that he has created our little Farm to be! We are so happy to offer a special place for couples to start their lives together. I also have to take a moment to "Thank" all of the couples who have put their faith and trust in our vision here at The Farm even before we were finished. We look forward to blessing you and your families on your Wedding Day!
Lastly, I had to share a link to the video from Nolan and Kendra's Wedding. Its just beautiful and captures what an amazing couple they are. To Nolan and Kendra, may God bless each day you share together. When God is the top priority in our lives, the rest falls into place.
"In his heart a man plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps." Proverbs 16:9
Until the next Wedding.....
