Happenings on The Farm
2020 has definitely been a whirlwind of year for so many people on so many levels. My heart truly goes out to small business owners, especially to vendors in the event industry, as well as restaurants. As we all try to navigate through these times one thing I am thankful for is the opportunity to get creative and collaborate. It has been so exciting to see how small business owners are able to re-invent themselves, pivot and adjust their business plans to keep their businesses afloat during this time. I can assure you this is no small task for a business owner.
Our New Harvest Barn - housing a commercial kitchen for our bakery, a new smaller event space, a beautiful bridal suite and on-site bathrooms!
All pictures of our New Harvest Barn were provided by Hazel Lining Photography! She does amazing work.
Guidelines change what sometimes feels like daily and all of our processes have changed multiple times over the last few months. So while it is easy to focus on the chaos, God has continually reminded me to keep trusting Him and to keep looking up. He has taught me a new level on dependence on Him for wisdom, grace and patience to get through this all.
So here at The Farm we have had to change, adjust our processes and even add a few new things! We have been blessed to be able to continue to host outdoor Weddings here at The Farm! Our Barn received approval from the Bucks County Health Department to operate as an outdoor venue. Their guidance and support truly saved our little business. We have several safety measures in place, including adjusted floor plans to allow for social distancing, more team members to wipe down high traffic areas throughout each event, commercial grade cleaning products and the list goes on, but we are surviving and are so happy to be able to serve our Wedding Couples, their friends and families. Our Team at The Farm has been amazing through it all, we could not do what we are doing without each one of them.
This year, we were super excited to announce that we have built a new Harvest Barn that is fully temperature controlled which allows us to host events year-round. This new space can accommodate 50-60 people, and is beautifully decorated with a little more of a modern farmhouse feel than our main Seed Barn. We had hopes to host several Christmas Parties and even smaller Weddings in our new space, but with the Pandemic still here, we have decided to pivot and continue to expand our retail bakery hours and open a Holiday Market! Check out the pictures here of our new Harvest Barn below. So while indoor gatherings may be paused, this year we are super excited to have expanded bakery hours, a new Holiday Market with bakery specials, beautiful bakery gift baskets, holiday cookie boxes, homemade gingerbread house kits and more. Be on the look out for our Holiday Market hours, grand opening date and our menu of offerings for both Thanksgiving Pies & Christmas. We will be posting more information within the next 2 weeks.
A special “Thank You” to Hazel Lining Photography for these beautiful photos.
We have had several people ask about how they can get our Baked Goods. Currently we only have Retail Hours on Saturday’s at our Flour Cart which is open from 9am-1pm. Our Flour Cart is an adorable little vintage trailer that serves up weekly bakery specials as well as hot and iced coffee from Speakeasy Coffee Company. You can Pre-Order for pick-up or you can just come and see what we have. We have weekly seasonal bakery specials and are adding soups, chili and “Meyers” famous chicken pie to the menu in the coming weeks. We have a beautiful outdoor seating area, with a cozy fire to enjoy breakfast at The Farm while taking in the views of the farm lands and changing of the leaves. Be sure to check back regularly as our specials each weekend are updated regularly. We will continue our Flour Cart on Saturdays through November and will transition indoors when the weather gets a little cooler. Here is a link to our menu of items and specials available on the Flour Cart: http://www.meyersfarmbakery.com/flour-cart-farm-stand-and-hours. While 2020 has been a crazy year, I’m grateful for the opportunity to change it up a little bit here at The Farm. We hope that you will come visit us at The Flour Cart and think of us when planning your next Special Event. We truly would love to serve you! Remember to support your local businesses! They have all been through a lot this year and those with their doors still open are waiting and ready to serve you! We are praying for our country, for those that have been deeply affected by the pandemic and for all of the local businesses in our community. We look forward to coming out on the other side, stronger and more resilient than ever before.
Be well and God Bless! Becca

****All pies and dumplings can be made with Spelt Flour. Spelt contains higher amounts of vitamins and minerals than wheat. It is also easier to digest than wheat due to its high water solubility, which makes the nutrients available to the body with minimal digestive effort. Spelt does contain gluten, but the gluten strength is less than wheat and many people with wheat sensitivities may be able to tolerate spelt. ****
We use only Organic Whole Wheat White Pastry Flour or Natural Spelt Flour from Small Valley Milling in Halifax, PA for all of our baking.
Getting "The Barn" ready for Wedding's...............
Its been quite a while since I have had time to write about the progress at "The Barn." The past couple of months have truly been a whirlwind. We are at the point where all of the final details are coming together, but with Chris & I working full-time in addition to our new little budding business at "The Farm" with the bakery and the barn we have had to call in a team of experts to help us.
Its been quite a while since I have had time to write about the progress at "The Barn." The past couple of months have truly been a whirlwind. We are at the point where all of the final details are coming together, but with Chris & I working full-time in addition to our new little budding business at "The Farm" we have had to call in a team of experts to help us. As I had been traveling quite a bit for work, my husband called his parents who live in Tennessee and asked them to come help us on "The Farm" through Thanksgiving. They joyfully accepted and have been living with us for the past 4 weeks and I cannot tell you how they have blessed our family during this time. I am forever grateful for all that they are doing for us and our girls.
My mother-in-law, Wendy, is absolutely amazing, she has been helping us with the kids and so many of the household duties to keep "The Farm Bakery & Events" going. What I love the most is when I came back from traveling for work, our girls turned into budding pianist's because they were actually practicing. The girls enjoy coming home after school every day for afternoon tea with "Gran." Its amazing what we can all accomplish with an extra set of hands, its allowed both Chris & I to be able to breathe.
What my father-in-law did not realize was that I was secretly saving all of our old barn wood for him to make tables for our newly renovated barn, as well as a rustic arbor for ceremonies on "The Farm." He is a master wood-worker and has made some amazing things for us in the past and I knew this would be an awesome project for him and a great way to re-use all of the old wood. What I love about this, is that he was not sure that the wood was going to be re-usable, as he had never quite done anything like this, especially with such old wood. Some of the pieces he used for these tables are close to 200 years old. Well from the pictures, I hope you can see that these tables are coming along amazing. He is still putting the finishing details on them, but I cannot wait to see these in "The Barn" for either the Bride & Groom's special table or even a beautiful display for a rustic dessert bar done on site from The Farm Bakery!
There is much more to be done, "The Barn" is in the process of being stained and the electrical upgrade is occurring. I will be really excited to see all of the interior Edison Bulb lighting that will give "The Barn" a special glow for our nighttime weddings. This is truly a team effort here at "The Farm" between my Dad & Kara, our amazing bakers, baking almost everyday through thanksgiving and the team of people working on all of the other projects its only by God that we are all joyfully taking each next step.
Many more updates and exciting things to come, stay tuned for more on "The Farm."
Blessings,
Chris & Becca

Weddings at "The Farm"....
Our "Barn" has undergone a complete restoration this Summer. Each piece of old wood has been taken down piece by piece and replaced with new wood to bring "The Barn" back to its glory days of the 1820's.

Our "Barn" has undergone a complete restoration this Summer. Each piece of old wood has been taken down piece by piece and replaced with new wood to bring "The Barn" back to its glory days of the 1820's. Our goal with this restoration was to preserve as much of the old as we could, but also when adding the new wood, mimic the way it was originally built back in the 1800's. We still have to stain the exterior and the interior of "The Barn", as well as re-finish the floors! We are really excited about the progress and cannot wait to see all of the finished details. My Mother-in-Law sent me this beautiful poem below and I could not agree more with everything written here. This was written by guests who stayed at their bed-n-breakfast in Tennessee in a book called "Priceless Company" by Kathryn Anne Sias. What a beautiful picture of God's strength in our lives. As we look to be a solid ground for many lives at "The Farm" we pray and ask that God continues to guide our plans, our decisions in all that we do with this barn to truly bless each and every couple that starts their journey here together.
"The Beauty of An Old Barn"
How does my friend see the beauty in an old barn? Its foundation unstable, even sometimes crumbling all around. It must be the beams so large and strong, maybe it's the old wood on the outside, weathered and worn. Could it be the size or shape that catches her eye? I wonder as I once seen a round barn with no corners to hide. It can't be the color, as most are faded from age, it must be that she knows just why these old barns were made, to be a covering to protect someone's belongings, cattle or food. The beauty of an old barn, what a splendor, aged and rugged and close to my friends heart, so tender. The structure of the Lord, surrounding our soul, His Word, His Blessings and all that take control. As viewed on the outside, should be solid and strong. The beauty of the Lords's touch should want one to long. As the strength of an old barn can weather any storm, so should we as He is our strength, for anything that comes along.
"Honor and majesty are before him: strength and beauty are his sanctuary."
Psalm 96:6
We look forward to hosting our first Wedding at "The Farm." The barn will ready for Weddings and Special Events in the Spring of 2017. Please email us at meyersfarmybakery@yahoo.com or call 215-272-2301 for rental information, our preferred vendor list and any additional questions.

Weddings at The Farm......14 years ago today.......
Today Chris & I celebrate our 14th Wedding Anniversary!! I'm sure everyone says this, but I look back through our Wedding pictures and can't believe how fast time has flown by.
Today Chris & I celebrate our 14th Wedding Anniversary!! I'm sure everyone says this, but I look back through our Wedding pictures and can't believe how fast time has flown by. We have gone through so much together over the years and God has truly blessed us with more than we could have ever imagined. It also is amazing to think that our journey started at this very Farm, where we one day hope to host many more celebrations. We had our ceremony and a cocktail reception at The Farm and then went back to the restaurant for the reception. It was such a beautiful day, the pictures below only capture a few of the special moments.
I'm thankful and blessed to know that God sent me the perfect person, whom is truly my best friend. We laugh, we cry and yes we fight sometimes too, but we always remember that if we keep God at the center of all we do the rest will always fall into place. So today, I say Happy Anniversary to the most amazing man, I thank you for putting up with me, my crazy ideas and all that life has brought before us, including our two adorable girls. Cheers to many more!!
I hope that despite this wedding being 14 years ago and outdated from today's standards, that you can see the beautiful surroundings this Farm hosts for your special day too! Don't forget our 1820's BARN will be fully renovated and ready to host your Wedding or Special Event in the Spring of 2017. Sign up for our Newsletter or email us for additional pricing details.
Warmly,
-Becca Lynde
