The Bakery's Roots

In 1949, my Grandparents, Joseph and Johanna Meyers started Meyers Family Restaurant. It was in business for more than 50 years in Quakertown, Pennsylvania and was built on the premise of good old fashioned foods with a Pennsylvania Dutch Flare. If you ask people today what they remember most about the restaurant, it was certainly the baked goods. Apple Dumplings, Seasonal Crumb Pies, Pennsylvania Dutch Shoo Fly and Funny Cakes were by far some of the favorites.

My brother and I grew up at the restaurant, working in every aspect of the business from a very young age all the way up until after we graduated from college. As a child I remember going to the restaurant regularly with my brother and seeing my Grandmother hard at work in the bakery rolling out dough or cutting strawberries. We both loved when she would dip her fresh cut strawberries in the big bin of sugar as a treat for us. She was such an amazing woman, filled with energy and a passion for serving others. After a lifetime of learning from his mother, my father decided to attend the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY to further his culinary education. When he returned he took over the operation of the restaurant alongside his brother Joe. The CIA education coupled with years of hands on training from my Grandmother led to the creation of some of the best recipes that we still use in our baking today.

After 54 years in business, in January of 2003 we decided to close the restaurant. At that time, my brother Brad and I were both working with my father and Uncle Joe to run the restaurant. Although we were sad to see the restaurant close and part ways, we knew that for all of our families it was the right decision. My father has always had a passion for baking, so much so that he installed a commercial kitchen at our Farm House so that he could continue his craft. Over the years he continued to bake for family and friends. We have always talked about one day bringing back our family recipes to share with those who loved them. I'm excited to announce that we have finally made it official... "The Farm Bakery Inc., " was formed on April 29th of 2016.

Our mission is to provide good wholesome baked goods to our community and surrounding areas using our long-standing recipes. We will source only high quality local ingredients when available and will promise to hand-make every item with TLC. Our goal is to focus on favorites - Apple Dumplings, Seasonal Pies, Shoo Fly and Funny Cakes. We are excited to serve our community again and look forward to seeing where God leads our new venture!

I discovered I had a love for all things wedding when I began working as a bridal consultant in 2009. Seeing the excitement on each bride’s face as I helped them find the perfect dress brought so much joy to my heart. My appreciation for designing and executing events only grew after planning my own wedding in 2013. Since then I have had the privilege of coordinating numerous events for family and friends, and I began to dream about one day opening my own event center! In October of 2018, I was the Matron of Honor in my sister-in-law’s wedding that was held here at The Farm. The beauty of the location and facilities instantly left me in awe, and I mentioned to the owner, Becca, that she was living my dream life. Imagine my surprise and delight when she offered me a job on the spot!
When I’m not working at The Farm, I can be found keeping up with my two busy little boys, experimenting with new recipes, and tending to my ever-expanding vegetable and herb garden. My husband and I enjoy trips to the beach throughout the summer, building family memories that we cherish. It is my pleasure to be at The Farm, and I look forward to working with all of our brides, grooms, and their families to ensure a seamless and memorable wedding day.

“The Lord is my strength and shield. I trust him with all my heart. He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy. I burst out in songs of thanksgiving.” Psalm 28:7

I started at The Farm as an Intern in 2018, following a brochure I had picked up at a Chamber of Commerce event two years prior, and immediately fell in love with not only the venue, but also our incredible team and the couples we served every weekend. This year I am returning as an event coordinator and am so excited to spend another season helping to bring our couples’ dreams to life!

I am in my last year of studying for my undergraduate degree in Hospitality Management at Widener University, while also being a member of Widener’s women’s softball team and the creator of a (very small, but slowly growing) photography business. I love my family and our Doylestown, PA “farmette” dearly.

Recently, God has laid the scripture Proverbs 16:3 on my heart: “Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and He will establish your plans.” I am a planner in every aspect - and it is so encouraging to be reminded that He lays out the plans and is able to guide my steps if I trust Him to. I am so excited to celebrate with you, and I hope that you come to love the Farm and our team as dearly as I do!

I am a wife to one and a mom to 4 boys and 2 girls, plus two pups, it's a busy home! I came to work at The Farm by meeting the Myers family through a mutual friend and now I'll never leave!!! I love Jesus, coffee, volleyball and working at this magical place. I've been married to my husband for 13 years and look forward to making your day as memorable as ours was!

I have always had a passion for coordinating events and attended college for business and event planning. Before coming to The Farm, I worked in several capacities, gaining a specific desire to assist couples on coordinating their perfect day. After taking some time off to stay at home with my daughter, my friend, knowing my love for baking, recommended me to work at the Farm Bakery. When we opened the Barn to host weddings, I jumped at the opportunity to start coordinating weddings and ultimately help couples have a wonderful experience. I truly love what I do and nothing is more of a blessing than when a couple or family expresses their happiness to us at the end of the day.

In my spare time, I love spending time with my family, especially doing crafts and baking with my daughter.
