Featured Wedding: Cheyenne & Dan

It’s no secret that there have been a plethora of couples across the world over the past 18+ months who have had to pivot and get creative in their wedding plans. Cheyenne & Dan were no exception to this rule, but their love story and the story of their wedding day have absolutely stolen our hearts as just one of the many highlights of our exceedingly special 2021 wedding season. This blog post is honestly long overdue in reminiscing on the beautiful spring wedding day that Cheyenne & Dan pledged their love to each other in front of their mothers and two children in a delightfully intimate ceremony. We are so excited to share a bit more of their story!

"Dan and I met in 2008 at Methacton High School while in gym class. I was a senior and he was a junior. We met because my friend and I got paired with a mutual friend and Dan to play against each other in badminton. So romantic, we know! We then spent gym class together lifting weights in the weight room, playing flag football, and wiffle ball. We also had study hall together where we weren't allowed to talk so we would secretly text which caused Dan to get an ISS because he got caught texting me... whoops! This led to us becoming really close friends that led to best friends and in February 2009, we started dating. I went on to college while he finished his final year at Methacton before he joined me at Millersville University.

“Dan and I really enjoy our down time together after our kids go to sleep where we can just relax on the couch while watching a tv show or movie. We love having family days with our kids, taking them somewhere fun and exciting. Dan and I also really enjoy our very rare date nights where we can just be in each others company without the stress of the rest of life for a short time.”

Cheyenne

“Our proposal was very low key and intimate. We were at home on Mother's Day 2019 getting ready to go to Dan's sister's graduation from West Chester University. Dan came downstairs with the kids and handed me a Mother's Day card but when I opened it, inside was an engagement card that read ‘Will you marry me?’ I turned around to him on one knee, the ring in his hand, and both of our kids at his sides. It was small, personal, and perfectly us.”

Cheyenne

“Our wedding day was absolutely perfect for us and it was truly a blessing in disguise to have as many changes as we did due to covid. We honestly couldn't imagine it any different than what it was. It was so stress free, intimate, and family focused. We loved how the focus and attention could be spent on our kids, as well as on us. The Farm went above and beyond being accommodating for all of the changes that came and doing everything possible to make sure our day was truly perfection. Staff was there the entire day ensuring it was everything we wanted, keeping our kids entertained by playing games with them or dancing, and adding in special moments like the tractor ride for our family. We also loved that we could be relaxed and take as much time as needed on photos and video of us with our amazing photographer Andrea Krout Photography and videographer Tariq Smith with Complete Weddings + Events. Our flowers by Tiffanie with Blooming Affairs Florist were beyond stunning and I am so glad we could make the change so everyone could have a bouquet of their own which doubled as centerpieces. Also the food took a major upgrade thanks to Mike Van Pelt and was absolutely delicious. When planning our wedding, we didn't foresee being able to have a "fancy" sit down meal but we were able to have that and more. We truthfully cannot pick just one thing that was notable about our wedding day. That would be way too difficult. Our wedding day to some may not be considered a wedding because it wasn't big, extravagant, and filled with a lot of guests but it couldn't have been more perfect, more beautiful, or more meaningful than it was.”

Cheyenne

It was an honor to be a part of such a special celebration for such a special couple!
We wish Cheyenne, Dan, and their wonderful family a lifetime of happiness together!

Featured Summer Wedding - Olivia and Greg

All images by Hazel Lining Photography

Summer wedding season is officially in full swing at The Farm! We have been so incredibly blessed throughout our entire 2021 wedding season to be able to celebrate with our couples as they take the first step into the rest of their lives together. This time of year, the fields are tall, the leaves are that fresh summer green, and it’s light outside until nearly 9pm.

At the beginning of June, we had the distinct pleasure of hosting Olivia & Greg’s wedding. They had the most beautiful summer day complete with yard games, a fire pit and s’mores bar, and even a dessert bar set up outside on the deck. Most notable, however, were Olivia & Greg themselves, and their beautiful love story.

Olivia and Greg are high school sweethearts and have known each other since the 8th grade! After finally falling for each other a few years later, they have been together ever since. They love to spend their weekends with their family and friends, hosting big get togethers as well as checking out breweries and spending time in nature.

Greg proposed to Olivia on August 18, 2019 on a family trip, at the beach during golden hour - and Olivia was not expecting it at all! Greg waited until they were taking some adorable sunset photos together before dropping down on one knee… and pulling the ring out of a ziplock bag, which he stored it in for both maximum security and minimum suspicion. Little did Olivia know, he had even invited her parents to the proposal! They were hiding behind a lifeguard stand and came running out the moment Greg popped the question. Together, they celebrated on the beach with champagne, pictures, and lots of laughter.

After nearly two years of planning, Olivia & Greg’s wedding day was the perfect combination of both meaningful and fun moments from the moment they arrived at the Farm all the way through their send off.

IMG_1172.jpeg

Words from the Bride:

“On our actual wedding day, my favorite moment was when I finally saw Greg at the altar. In that moment, it made every moment leading up to this worth it. We had a 22 month engagement and in those 22 months we certainly experienced so many ups and downs. I work in healthcare so I would come home battered and exhausted but then had to put my wedding planning hat on with Greg to plan this wedding that we weren’t even certain would ever happen the way we imagined it. We both had a good gut feeling about the wedding and held onto hope and leaned on the support from The Farm’s staff. Eventually as we progressed closer to the wedding, we realized we were going to be blessed and have our dream day without restrictions.

Another favorite moment was we chose to do a last dance in the Barn just Greg and I. We blasted Forever Young by Alphaville and sang our hearts out realizing our wedding day was almost over. After all the planning, tears, uncertainty... here we were dancing to our last song.”

Olivia and Greg made the most of their summer night, from their beautiful golden hour portraits in the fields to their cake and dessert table, and even all the way out to their fire pit and s’mores bar! Nothing quite says summer like a beautiful evening spent outside with family and friends.

One of the most special parts of Olivia and Greg’s day was their last dance, which they opted to do just the two of them in the Barn! This was such a unique and intimate moment for the two of them to share as newlyweds, with their guests outside preparing for their sparkler send off. Private moments like these can be few and far between on wedding days, so it was even more special that Olivia and Greg were able to take these moments to themselves throughout their special evening.

Spring Excitement at the Farm!

It’s so hard to believe that Spring is here! As I sit here in 2021 and reflect on the past year, it has been a whirlwind for so many of us and in so many different ways. Surely we could never predicted what this past year has brought, but God has truly shown me that He is my only source of peace and calm in the crazy storms. He also taught me through it all, that my trust and faith must solely rely on Him and nothing else to get through each day.

Magnolia’s are in bloom…..

It’s so hard to believe that Spring is here! As I sit here in 2021 and reflect on the past year, it has been a whirlwind for so many of us and in so many different ways. Surely we could never predict what this past year has brought, but God has truly shown me that He is my only source of peace and calm in the crazy storms. He also taught me through it all, that my trust and faith must solely rely on Him and nothing else to get through each day.

There were days of heartache, days of joy, days of unbelievable miracles and days filled with pain and anguish. As each day would pass a new announcement or a new guideline would change for our business and for so many other businesses. At times I was overwhelmed with what the next step would be, but I kept praying for wisdom and guidance and God always provided more than I could ever imagine. I saw businesses flourishing and businesses closing. I saw families divided over differing opinions and I saw people lose loved ones.

However, despite all of those things, I have to say that I am so thankful for the new lens that God gave me to approach life. I’ve looked at our family business in new ways and with fresh eyes. I view my time differently with those people that I love - it’s cherished. I view a simple hug as a privilege and an honor. I’m even more honored to serve our Wedding Couples and their families, in a way that I cannot even explain. I witnessed some of those beautiful moments between families, as well as our couples that I will never forget. I humbly try to listen and understand more, than share, which is not always easy for me. So while I miss the days before the pandemic, God changed my heart in a way that I’m so grateful and excited for the year ahead.

At The Farm, we are excited for Spring and for the new beginning that it always brings. We already see the bulbs peaking up through the ice, trees getting their tiny buds, snow melting(finally) and birds chirping. Spring is right around the corner and we are beyond excited for the sunshine and warmth that it brings. Our Farm Family is excited to serve again and open The Farm for some truly exciting events over the next month! Check out all of the happenings below and know that we are heading into this season keeping our eyes on Him and praising the Lord for all that He has done!

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support during this time. It truly means the world to our awesome team here at The Farm and our family.

Warmly, Becca

“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” Isaiah 43: 18-19

Now that all this snow is finally melting, we wanted to send out a little update from the Farm with all we have been up to this past winter, and all we have planned for the year to come! The grass is finally visible again, the daffodils and crocuses are (miraculously) just beginning to break through the soil, and we have been enjoying every moment of sunshine while we prepare the Farm for a wonderful season of weddings and serving our amazing community through the bakery.

There is a plethora of landscaping work being done, as well as several exciting outdoor projects (including new stone pathways and new outdoor seating options!) in the works that we can’t wait to show you! We are so excited to announce that we are adding additional Fire Pits & a beautiful expanded outdoor seating area for our Flour Cart on Saturdays and for outdoor events at The Farm! More pictures coming soon, but the debut of our outdoor space will be on Easter Weekend!

With this weekend marking one year since our whole world changed here in Bucks County, it has been nothing short of humbling to reminisce on all we’ve learned and accomplished within the past year - and it is so incredibly apparent to us that we couldn't have done it without God watching over our Farm, and without the support of our incredible community. We know this has not been an easy year, but we want to thank you for bringing us so much joy in serving you each and every week. As the sun peeks through the clouds today, we look forward with great excitement and enthusiasm at all the new beauty and joy that the coming months will bring. We can’t wait to share it with you.
