Every table tells a story....

As I sit here a few weeks before Thanksgiving, I was taken back to November of 2016 to a moment in time where our family sat around the table to share ideas and plans for the future of The Farm. I think about this time of year and how many people have memories around their tables, sometimes good and sometimes not, but they are memories that shape who we are and who we become. This table here, is filled with history. My Mom and Grandmothers china, apple dumplings that my Grandmother Meyers made back in the day and a beautiful table made by my Father-in-Law from the old barn wood that we took down when we restored the barn. At that time, none of us knew what the future held, but from this moment forward my family walked beside me every step of the way with God directing my steps. He had planted a seed, that I could not stop thinking about, weddings in the barn.

A special thank you to Stacy Salvatori Photography for capturing this special memory.

As I sit here a few weeks before Thanksgiving, I was taken back to November of 2016 , a moment in time where our family sat around the table to share ideas and plans for the future of The Farm. I think about this time of year and how many people have memories around their tables, sometimes good and sometimes not, but they are memories that shape who we are and who we become. The table pictured here, is filled with history. My Mom and Grandmothers china, delicious apple dumplings from my Grandmother Meyers recipe dating back to the 1950’s and a beautiful table made by my Father-in-Law from the old 1800’s barn wood that we took down when we restored the barn. At that time, none of us knew what the future held, but from this moment forward my family walked beside me every step of the way with God directing my steps. He had planted a seed, that I could not stop thinking about, weddings in the barn.

They all sat beside me at this table and many others to listen to the thoughts and ideas that I had for The Farm. They never once doubted me, they never once challenged me, even when I may have gotten it wrong, they just kept coming along side of me and helping me every step of the way. I’m filled with more gratitude that I can even share for these amazing people that I get to call my family. Gratitude by definition is “the quality of being thankful; readiness to show appreciation for and to return kindness.” I wish in my heart that each one of them knew just how thankful I am. My husband, my children, my in-laws and my Dad live here at The Farm and all play an active role in supporting this family business. I can truly say that its only through God’s love and grace that we care for each other so deeply. Even though most of the work that they do is behind the scenes, they are truly one one of the main reasons the Farm is such a special place.

So many people thought we were absolutely crazy, but somewhere deep in my heart I knew that God was paving the way to use this beautiful farm for His glory. So today, and everyday moving forward, I thank God for all that He has done here. From the people that He has brought here and the people that He has taken away, this small business has challenged my faith in more ways than I can even share, but I’m beyond grateful for each experience. We are humbled and grateful with each passing day. To be able to continue a piece of my families heritage with the bakery, while getting to serve couples on their Wedding Day, its truly a dream job come true. It warms my heart to think of all of the memories shared around the many tables here each and every weekend. To this day, people always ask me, “I’m not sure what it is, but this place is just so beautiful and peaceful.” I can only say it’s the Lord, “Then you will know that I, the Lord your God dwell in Zion…”. Joel 3:17. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that we live on Zion Hill Rd.

We hope and pray that in the chaos of the world, that you find light in the darkness. That you spend time with those you love, sitting around the table and being present in the moment.

In our family, its ok to just have Apple Dumplings for dinner! So I would encourage you all, to start a new tradition this year and try some for dinner or order some amazing pies to create the sweet ending to your gatherings this holiday seaon. You will not be disappointed.

With much love and sincere gratitude,

Becca Lynde

“Shout joyfully to the Lord, all the earth.

Serve the Lord with gladness;

Come before Him with joyful singing.

Know that the Lord Himself is God;

it is He who has made us, and not we ourselves;

We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.

Enter His gates with thanksgiving

and His courts with praise.

Give thanks to Him, bless His name.

For the Lord is good;

His lovingkindness is everlasting

and His faithfulness to all generations.”

The Special Day when it all began….

A Mother’s Day Tribute

It seems so hard to believe that we are already in our 2022 Wedding Season. This year marks our 5 year Anniversary on May 20th, 2022. We hosted our first Wedding here at The Farm on Saturday, May 20th, 2017. We have been blessed beyond measure here at The Farm and I truly could have never dreamed or imagined all that the Farm is today. God has guided us, brought amazing people to work alongside of us, all the while sending so many great couples and their families to get married here. I will never forget when I met one of the most special Moms; her name was Nancy! She came to tour The Farm in November of 2016.

Nancy helping her daughter get ready on her Wedding day!

The Farm was a complete mess! There was mud everywhere and the Barn was almost done, but not quite. We had to walk up planks to get into the Barn, because it was a mud slide. I showed her our vision board of what we hoped The Farm would look like, and she said my daughter will love it, its absolutely perfect. I truly almost fell over and was in complete shock. She asked if May 20th, 2017 was open, I paused for a moment and said yes (… only to think, yikes, that is only 6 months away). I’m glad Nancy was confident in our abilities, but I knew how much we still had to do. By the grace of God, we were able to get everything finished. We worked tirelessly and sodded the entire area around the Barn and the back ceremony area the week before the wedding. The Farm was finally ready for our first big day!

My entire family dressed up that day. We watched in amazement how this family set everything up just perfectly. They completely transformed the Barn into everything that I knew it could be, but when I saw it for the first time I was awe-struck. Everything was just beautiful. As I watched everything come together, I was a little taken aback. I had no idea what the future would hold, but I knew at that moment, that God was going to do something special at this Farm!

Here we are, fast forward 5 years later, and to say we have the best job in the world is truly an understatement. God has surely provided. Over the past 5 years, we have witnessed so many amazing couples get married here at The Farm. With each passing year, we grow and learn more. We continuously look for ways to improve, ways to serve better and more abundantly. We praise God and pray more fervently than ever not only to thank Him for all that He has done, but to also give us wisdom to love just like He has done.

In closing, I have to say “thank you” to Nancy, one of the most special Moms I know! She was not only the first person to book a wedding here at the Farm, but her daughter’s wedding was also the first one we ever hosted. She embodied what it means to serve your daughter on her wedding day, and she continues to do so. She brings me a beautiful potted flower every year on their anniversary, and it means so much to me. I will never forget this sweet family and that special day.

Nolan & Kendra had such a beautiful day; my girls watched their wedding video about 500 times. We noticed several months later that little Charlie, who was only 4 at the time, was trying to catch the bouquet in the video. We all almost died. Our first order of business was to teach our girls that the weddings at the Farm were not for us, but for other families. Ha! Check out their video and pictures below from that glorious day!

To all of the Moms out there: I hope you have the most amazing Mother’s Day. While I hope that you are being served on this special day, I have to say that being a Mom myself, I have more joy in my heart when serving others, than when being served. Maybe it’s just a Mom thing, or maybe I’m crazy, but I’m thankful for the opportunity to serve couples and their families almost every weekend here at The Farm!

Lastly, We are having a special Mother’s Day Flour Cart here at The Farm on Saturday, May 7th, 2022 from 10am to 1pm. Click on our pre-order menu below and check out all of the details below. We hope you will come and join us for Brunch at The Farm, as well as bring a little something special home for all of the special Mom’s in your life!

With much Love & Gratitude,
Becca Lynde

As we close out this year and prepare for the next, our entire team is utterly struck with amazement and gratitude at everything we experienced and accomplished this past year. We are so blessed to be able to serve every one of our couples and their families, and it is truly a gift to bear witness to so many incredible memories created here at the Farm! We are simply so thankful for all of you who entrusted us with such a special day.

2021 was our biggest year yet - from the bakery to weddings to markets. We hosted 80 incredible couples for their weddings this year, along with their families and friends. The fact that we were able to celebrate with so many of you in the midst of so much uncertainty is a gift that we do not take lightly, and we cannot express how special it has been to find these moments of light and joy and peace and love that shine through it all.

The Bakery served about 120 couples on their wedding day throughout the course of the year, between weddings hosted on-site and desserts delivered to off-site venues. It’s such an honor to share our delicious desserts with you and your loved ones on such a special day!

While we could go on, we know that words fall short of expressing everything we feel when we reflect back on this year. So, we’d like to share a little recap video with you instead to highlight some of the amazing couples who held their wedding at the Farm Bakery and Events this year!

We’ll be spending the next couple of months resting and preparing to celebrate with you again in 2022. We know next year is going to be even more amazing, and we cannot wait to continue making memories with you all.

We wish you and your loved ones a very happy, healthy, and restful New Year!

Warmly,

the Farm Bakery and Events Team

Peace, Hope & Joy - Merry Christmas!

It’s so hard to believe that the end of 2021 is right around the corner. When I think about this past year, once again I’m amazed and sit in awe of God’s power, His protection, His grace and strength.

Last week I walked out of the side of our house to see this cross over The Seed Barn! :-) To Him, we give all of the glory.

It’s so hard to believe that the end of 2021 is right around the corner. When I think about this past year, once again I’m amazed and sit in awe of God’s power, His protection, His grace and strength.

I woke up this morning and my heart was truly overflowing with gratefulness for all that He has done here at The Farm. Yesterday, as our team was baking their final pies for Christmas and as I was washing dishes, I paused for a moment as tears welled up in my eyes. They were tears of joy and thankfulness for the amazing team that God has brought here. Never in a million years did I think The Farm would be what it is today. But I was reminded yesterday, by my team, just how far we have come. They gave me a beautiful photo book of all of the memories here at The Farm and as I turned the pages, I had to hold back my tears!

For those of you who have not followed along from the beginning our little business started with the bakery in our home kitchen for over 5 years. In 2016 we had an Amish crew restore our 1800’s bank barn and started a limited bakery in our home kitchen. In May of 2017 we hosted our first Wedding in our Seed Barn. Each year, we got to witness more and more couples join in marriage here at The Farm.

Then, in 2020, a year where events and Weddings were paused, somehow God allowed us to continue. We finally opened up our brand new Harvest Barn with onsite bathrooms and a beautiful commercial kitchen. The bakery was finally able to have a home, outside of our family home! It is crazy to think that my kids grew up watching this business evolve and change. They thought it was normal to come downstairs and have a team of bakers in our house, with a constant smell of warm apple dumplings! What is even more amazing is those same people who started at The Farm back in 2016, are still here today. We have so many memories here together and I could not be more proud and thankful for this awesome team that God has brought here to The Farm. They have truly become family to me.

So in the busyness of this Holiday Season, I have to thank our team here. The Farm would not be what it is today without each one of them and their contributions. This past year we hosted over 80 Weddings here at our little Farm and baked more desserts than I could have ever dreamed or imagined for both onsite and offsite events. They all work so hard and come to work every day with joy in their hearts and a willingness to serve. This is a true testament to God’s provisions.

I am also so thankful to the many couples and their families that we get to serve! It’s a true gift to be able to witness so many amazing memories that each couple and their families create at The Farm! We are also so overwhelmed by the support of our community for our Holiday Events and regular bakery orders. You keep our team busier than you will ever know and we are grateful for the opportunity to serve you.

Lastly, I thank my family for trusting in the little seed that God planted in my heart to start this business. God and my family are the reason I am here today. My family does all of the little things here at The Farm that no one can see, but make a big difference. They consistently challenge me when they say, “Becca what’s next?” I’m not sure they really want to keep asking that question, especially as they know I’m always thinking ahead. But one thing I do know for sure, is that only God knows the next step.

As I sit and think about this Christmas, I’m beyond grateful that God sent His one and only Son, who was born in a manager. My peace, my hope and my joy all rest in knowing that His promises are true and He alone is the Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father and Savior of this broken world.

Merry Christmas to you and your family! Have a restful an joyous holiday season. And… we can’t wait to spend this next season (our sixth!!!) with all our 2022 wedding couples!

With much love and gratitude, Becca
